Working in an Emotionally Demanding Role?

We spend most of our waking hours working.

Many jobs, especially those that require face-to-face or voice-to-voice contact with a customer or client, are very emotionally demanding.

Keeping a cheerful or positive attitude when conversing with an irrational customer or even boss is extremely difficult.

Many service based workplaces have strict rules on staff attitude and behavior (emotional output) while interacting with the customer and/or colleagues.
