To fight a battle you need powerful equipment. The Holy Spirit will use the power of God's Word as a sword to defeat Satin. So a great strategy is to memorize Scripture. What verse have you already learned?
TALK TO GOD: “Lord, I need power! Help me to memorize Scripture verses. I know this will help me live for you. Amen.”
INVESTIGATE GOD’S WORD: Read Ephesians 6: 10-17 (Memorize verse 17)
MAKE IT PRACTICAL:
I WONDER – Read Philippians 4:8
Do you have a lot of Garbage still roaming your mind? Are you struggling cleaning up your dirty sinful thoughts?
You mind works like a computer. If it’s programmed to think about crud, that’s what will happen. If it’s programmed to think about things that are healthy, you’ll think about healthy thoughts. The hard part comes in trying to keep out the unhealthy thoughts. So what’s God’s solution?
Reprogram the mind! The reprogramming process begins when we realize that destructive thoughts and images are trying to get a foothold in your mind. However, we have the power to kick them out! (read Philippians 4:8) provides the next step: “Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” What will you think about?
KEEP IT REAL – Read Isaiah 46:4
Do you ever go through times where you just want to give up?
Do you feel like no one cares, no one listens? Moments you wonder why you were ever born?
Or you just can’t understand why the situation you’re going through doesn’t seem to end, but yet it just increases.
You’re not the only one who feels this way. Why do you think the suicide rate is so high, don’t let these thoughts invade your mind. Don’t you realize this is the devil and his demons trying to attack you?
Read Isaiah 46:4 And learn about God’s tender loving care, and how he will be with you, and save you. Imagine God right there with you, talk to him, and tell him how you “really” feel.
There is no special way to pray to him, talk to him like your talking to a friend, cry it out, scream, beg him for help, but just talk to him. He’s been waiting so long for you to acknowledge him, and he truly wants to help you, but he can’t help you until you ask for his help!
It’s a great comfort to know that he is always right there when you need him, and he truly cares for you. But he is waiting for you to reach out to him. Know that he hears your prayers, and understands what you’re going through. Become closer to God and depend on him “every day” for the understanding, and help to clear your mind of these evil thoughts. Don’t give up! Call on him now, free your mind of this torment.
