GOD, OUR FATHER
Everyone knows what it is like to not feel totally accepted by others. Do you know that regardless of all of your sins that God Loves You and you are his family and accepts you as you are unconditionally?
TALK TO GOD: “Dear God, Thanks for making me part of
your family. Thank you for choosing me. Amen.”
INVESTIGATE GOD’S WORD:
Read Ephesians 1:3-8 (Memorize verse 5)
MAKE IT PRACTICAL:
I WONDER – Read Hebrews 1:1-3
Have you heard so many opinions on what God is really like that your confused if anyone really knows? How can we really know God?
Have you ever assembled a complicated jigsaw puzzle? If so, you know how important the picture on the box is. As you put the puzzle together, you use the picture as a reference. But what if you had the wrong box top, and the picture didn’t match the puzzle? The puzzle would be nearly impossible to assemble (at least until you recognize the mistakes).
People throughout the world are trying to put the “God Puzzle” together. But often they are trying to match the pieces to the wrong picture! God isn’t trying to hide. As Hebrews 1:1-3 tells us, God has clearly shown the world what he is like-through nature, through the Bible, and especially through Christ. When Jesus was asked point-blank by Phillip, he was straight forward with his reply. “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father!” (John 14:9; see also John 10:30). It doesn’t get more obvious than that!
To know what God is like, all you have to do is look a Jesus.
People get their God pictures from friends who say they believe in God, but never act like it; coaches who pray before a game then swear the paint off the walls at halftime; and so forth. But these aren’t accurate pictures of God.
If you want to know what God is like, you don’t’; have to settle for hearsay. Instead, look at the right picture-look at Christ.
(Basically, STOP looking at other Christians for your spiritual growth and focus on looking at God for your growth)
KEEP IT REAL – Read Mark 10:31
All we ever hear about are the Kardashians, or latest Fashion Trends, Large TV’s, Jewelry, New Cars, or if your living in the Elite Neighborhood. The lines are pretty clearly drowned, and most of us are on the other sides of the line.
I know we all getting tired of hearing about it, we either build up a massive resentment to everyone doing whatever we want without a care in the world, or we try to adapt to what we see and hear on social media. We try diets that never work, plastic surgery which ruins us, Makeup, Fashion, Electronics, Cars, and Real Estate we cannot afford and we end up in debt. We’re going to do what we want regardless of the fact, or we want people to like us so much we alter who we are just to attempt to fit in, but we are only hurt ourselves every time.
(STOP and realize this is the Devil using Idols, YES these are today's Idols that we are focusing on and worshiping basically)
Reevaluate yourself, and slowly change your state of mind, and your viewpoint! Turn it back on God, and start with the book of Mark. Mark 10:31 Jesus said, “Many who are the greatest now will be least important then (in the world to come), and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then”.
Just Stop and realize these Idols don’t matter, at the end of the day it’s what God thinks of you that truly matters.
To please him just stop being phony and just be yourself, and be content with what you have. Be happy, and loving to everyone you meet! Once you make a daily habit to be happy with everything you have, and just absolutely content and loving to everyone you meet, your perspective will change about the world and you will live in utter happiness.
NO that does not mean you will not have that roller-coaster of a life, it just means you will be better equipped to handle it because God is with you and he’s in control (LET GO) and gives God back the control of your life NOT these ridiculous Idols!
EXPRESS YOUR THOUGHTS (Journal Time): How can you put these ideas presented here into action in your own life? In your journal, make a list of what you’re grateful for. Make another list of everyone in your life who has hurt.
Things you are Grateful for: (Now say a prayer right now Thanking God for each of these things) Every day when you write in your journal write new things you're grateful for and Thank God for them in your daily prayer to him! (Read Philippians 4:6-9) People who have Hurt you: Now I want you to say a prayer for each of them.. I know this is hard Really Hard, I cried in anger when I first did this, but add this to your daily prayer and you will be set free.
Please pray for them right now!
(“Dear heavenly father thank you for putting ____(say each name)_________ in my life. I know there is/was a reason even if I’m still unsure. Please help him/her/them find you, dear Lord, please help him/her/them draw closer to you almighty God. I pray he/she/they find peace, compassion, love in you dear heavenly father. In Jesus name Amen!)
(Seriously try this for two weeks; It’s life-changing) (MUST READ: Romans 12:17-21 To fully understand)
